About the Club
The Penny Arcade has always been known as the place to catch your favorite bands as they pass through the area. With a sound and lighting system that surpasses all, an enormous 40-foot bar to serve patrons, and an assortment of recreational games, the Penny Arcade is the perfect destination for you and your friends. Located in the scenic Charlotte Beach area, there is plenty of parking, and many locations for dining.
History
Originally opening in 1973, The Penny Arcade has been a staple of the live music scene in Rochester for over 30 years. While undergoing many renovations and changes in it's three decade history, The Arcade has always stayed true to it's roots in presenting live rock acts. The list of past and present performers is a veritable who's who of the music industry, not just on a National scale, but local talent as well.

With an acoustic construction, high ceilings and a state of the art sound system, Sin-?rovides both performers and audience with unparalleled sound and sightlines. With room for 225, Sin-?bsp; showcases local, national and international talent. And finally, Sin-?romises to continue its mission of supporting the worthy and obscure talent while respecting the established.
As many of you know, Sin-?pronounced shin-ay) was an important music venue exposing many New Yorkers to vital talent in the early 90's. Located on St. Mark's Place in the East Village, Sin-?ave wings to such performers as Katell Keineg, Jeff Buckley, and David Gray. The informal atmosphere and devoted regular audience were instrumental in creating a fertile musical scene that flourished until Sin-?losed it's doors in the mid 90's.
Located at 150 Attorney street, the new Sin-?s at the epicenter of a new musical Mecca that includes quality venues such as Tonic, The Living Room, Pianos, The Mercury Lounge, The Luna Lounge and Arlene's Grocery. Featuring such performers as Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Walkmen in its first month of existence, Sin-?as named Best New Venue in NY Magazine's Best of New York Issue (March 2003). More great performers followed . . . The Kills, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Citizen Cope, Quix*o*tic, Damien Rice, The Animal Collective, Vue, Elefant, Ambulance Ltd., The Stills, The Star Spangels, and Ima Robot just to name a few. On it's first birthday, Sin-?as awarded "Best Place to See a Local Band's First Gig" by NY Magazine (March 2004) for helping nurture acts like The Seconds and The Secret Machines.
